Before launching Dorado Rock, Shane served as the sole representative for Penelope Bourbon in North Carolina throughout 2021. Being a solo boots-on-the-ground rep for an emerging brand is no small feat. It meant driving thousands of miles, introducing himself to store managers, hosting tastings, and fighting for valuable shelf space.
Through sheer persistence and an innate understanding of the local market, Shane successfully established Penelope Bourbon across North Carolina, laying the groundwork for the brand's massive footprint in the region today.

Recognizing a craving for connection among local whiskey enthusiasts, Shane founded the North Carolina Whiskey Hunters. What started as a shared passion project quickly grew into a thriving community dedicated to celebrating great whiskey, sharing rare finds, and educating spirits lovers across the state.
