# Single-barrel picks

Venues and retailers in North Carolina can pick a single barrel from a
distillery Dorado Rock represents. The barrel becomes a coded product in the
**NC ABC** system. Consumers still buy finished bottles at ABC stores.

## How a pick works

1. Account (on-premise or retail) works with Dorado Rock and the distillery
   to select a barrel.
2. The pick is set up in NC ABC as **listed** or **special-order**, as
   applicable.
3. The product receives an **NC ABC code**.
4. The account and other ABC stores order using that code.
5. Shoppers purchase at ABC retail price in ABC stores.

Dorado Rock does not sell barrels or bottles direct to consumers and does
not operate an ABC store.
